He holds 7 years of experience in the field of finite element as well as shake table investigations. He has a vast experience in usage of various finite element/as well as design softwares such as ABAQUS, PLAXIS 3D, ETABS, etc. He gained expertise in the field of geotechnical earthquake engineering and structural engineering during his Ph.D. and M.Tech programme. His area of interests of: Seismic Soil-Foundation-Structure Interaction, Tunnelling, Retaining Structures, Bridge Structures, etc. His work in the field of soil-structure interaction and distress assessment of real world problems has been published in various SCI/SCIE journals, such as, Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Structures, Journal of Structural Engineering (ASCE), Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities (ASCE), etc. Dr. Mittal has presented his research works at various national as well as international conferences such as, 18th World Conference in Earthquake Engineering (18WCEE, Italy), 8th International Conference on Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering (8ICEGE, Japan), etc. He is the recipient of various awards/grants for his research, such as Best Paper Award at 8ICRAGEE 2024, International travel grant by SERB (Now ANRF), etc. He has proven record of accomplishment of successful project such as helical anchors, dynamic soil-structure interaction for offshore wind turbines, etc.
